Restore previous versions of your redacted documents.
The Version History feature gives you a complete, built-in record of your document's progression throughout the redaction process. Instead of worrying about losing earlier work or manually keeping backup copies, Redactable automatically saves key milestones so you can view, restore, or download previous versions whenever you need them.
It provides an easy way to recover earlier work, compare changes over time, and maintain full visibility into how a document has evolved from start to finish.
This is ideal for teams working through multi-step redaction reviews, or anyone who wants the confidence to make changes knowing they can always step back to an earlier version.
Why it matters
The Version History feature is designed to protect your work and simplify document tracking by:
- Restoring previous versions: Revert your document to an earlier saved state without losing progress or starting over.
- Downloading earlier versions: Access and download any previously saved version of your document.
- Downloading draft versions: Access the working version of the document as it existed at any saved point.
- Redaction Certificates: Download the Redaction Certificate associated with any earlier version, not just the most recent one.
- Privilege Logs: Download the Privilege Log tied to any earlier version.
- Maintaining a full audit trail: Keep a clear record of document revisions for compliance and internal review.
- Distinguishing version-level vs. action-level history: Easily tell the difference between a saved document version and an individual redaction action.
Previously, once changes were made to a document, there was no built-in way to restore an earlier version, teams had to rely on manual backups or duplicate files to protect against mistakes. Unlike many redaction tools that only preserve the latest version, Redactable maintains a full history, making it easier to recover from errors, review changes, and keep documentation intact throughout the process.
