The Billing Admin role allows team members to manage billing settings, subscription plans, and user access without using a new paid seat.
Billing Admins have the ability to view and update billing details, manage subscription plans, and add or remove users from the account. However, they do not have access to view documents, edit redactions, or access the redaction log.
This is ideal for finance, operations, or admin staff who need account-level oversight but do not participate in document review or redaction.
‼️ To ensure continued access to redaction features and content permissions, at least one team member should retain full Admin access.
Why it matters
The Billing Admin role improves team management and cost efficiency by:
- Freeing up paid seats: Assign account management tasks to non-editing users without increasing your subscription cost.
- Controlling access: Provide billing-level permissions without granting access to documents or redaction logs.
- Maintaining compliance: Ensure only authorized users can view and modify sensitive content.
Assigning the Billing Admin role
- To assign or update a user to the Billing Admin role, navigate to the Team Members section within your account settings.
2. Locate the user you want to assign as a Billing Admin.
3. Click the access dropdown next to their name.
4. Select Billing Admin from the list.
5. Once the user is assigned the billing admin role, they will no longer have access to documents or the redaction log.
