Template Categories Feature

As a user of Redactable, you can create, edit, name, and delete templates with specific categories to efficiently organize, redact, and manage your files. This guide will walk you through the steps to manage your template categories within the Redaction Tool.



1. Create a New Template


a. Click on the "Categories" button and select the “+” icon to create a template.


b. A modal will appear prompting you to enter a name for your template.


c. Select the categories you want to include in this template.


d. Click "Save" to finalize and list your new template with the chosen categories.


2. Editing a Template


a. Click the "Apply Category Template" dropdown arrow to select a template to edit.


b. Select the "Edit" button next to the selected template.


c. A modal will open, allowing you to update the template name and adjust the selected categories.


d. Save your changes, which will be immediately reflected in the template list.


3. Deleting a Template


a. Click the "Apply Category Template" dropdown arrow to select a template to delete.


b. Select the "Delete" button next to the selected template.


c. A confirmation dialog will appear.


d. Confirm the deletion, and the template will be permanently removed from the list.


4. Viewing and Managing Template Categories


a. View Template List: In the Categories section, you will see a list of all templates, each displaying its name, a checkmark, and icons for editing and deleting.


b. Select Multiple Templates: You can select multiple templates at once. When you do, all categories associated with these templates will be automatically selected.


c. Manage Category Selection: If you unselect all sub-categories within a selected template, the template itself will be removed from the selected list. If you unselect only some sub-categories, the template will remain selected, reflecting the active sub-category/categories.


By following these instructions, you can easily manage your templates and categories, making the redaction process more efficient and tailored to your specific needs.
